Summary The CMM Programmer for American Rheinmetall will write measurement programs perform measurements validate results and report out results. Operate (CMM) coordinate measuring machines including Leica with scanning technology and other portable CMMs with use of Polyworks software. Requires a significant amount of computer work associated with writing and executing measurement programs with Polyworks software. Will work closely with incoming Quality assisting in inspection of components and approves the start of production through dimensional measurement of sample parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Develops qualifies and maintains programs for inspection routines.
  • Inspects and approves first piece at start of production.
  • Inspects and approves final inspections prior to delivery.
  • Reads blueprints to determine specifications and tolerances for a variety of milled and fabricated weldments.
  • Ensures that containment activities take place when discrepancies are identified.
  • Work with Production leads to relay and interpret inspection findings.
  • Review and refine data collection requirements according to customer drawings models work orders purchase orders sketches and PPAP requirements.
  • Participates in the corrective action and preventative action processes.
  • Participates in Gage R & R Studies.
  • Utilizes a wide variety of inspection tools to complete dimensional reports.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma and three to five years related experience. GD&T experience for print reading. Basic caliper micrometer and bore gage knowledge.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram format. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
