Job Overview

Navitas Partners LLC is seeking an experienced AI Specialist to design develop and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions that enhance operational efficiency improve decision-making and support innovation within public safety systems. This role will focus on building advanced AI-driven search and analytics capabilities using modern cloud-based architectures.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate real-world use cases into scalable AI solutions while ensuring compliance with data security privacy and CJIS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI/ML solutions to support natural language querying of law enforcement datasets enabling users to search data using everyday language rather than complex SQL queries.

  • Analyze and understand public safety data models including CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) RMS (Records Management Systems) and FRMS and their interrelationships.

  • Develop AI-powered search capabilities using existing datasets including:

    • People (including aliases)

    • Identifiers

    • Incidents and offenses

  • Support future enhancements leveraging RMS data for predictive analytics and advanced insights.

  • Extract data from on-premise Oracle and SQL Server databases and migrate to the AWS Cloud.

  • Transform normalize and mask sensitive data (CJIS PII etc.) in compliance with security and regulatory standards.

  • Store data in AI-optimized formats including vector databases (e.g. Pinecone) for semantic search.

  • Implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions using AWS Bedrock.

  • Integrate and deploy industry-standard AI models such as Claude or AWS Titan/Nova.

  • Ensure all components of the solution are securely hosted and managed within the AWS Cloud environment.

  • Stay current with AI/ML research tools and best practices to continuously improve solution quality.

Required Qualifications

  • 23 years of hands-on experience with public safety applications (CAD RMS FRMS).

  • Strong proficiency in Python (R is a plus) for data processing and ML development.

  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch Keras and Scikit-learn.

  • Solid understanding of data preprocessing model training validation and deployment.

  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Hands-on experience with AWS services including SageMaker EC2 and S3.

  • Knowledge of CJIS and PII data handling requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Apache Spark Databricks and Jupyter Notebooks.

  • Familiarity with vector databases and semantic search implementations.

  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

  • Experience with Azure ML or hybrid cloud environments is a plus.
