Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a Heavy Duty Mechanic you will:
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on underground and surface mobile equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems in accordance with OEM standards.
- Maintain accurate service records parts lists and maintenance documentation.
- Follow daily line-ups safety procedures and Ontario Regulation 854 Mines and Mining Plants.
- Support construction projects through reliable equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
Essential qualifications include:
- 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Journeyperson or equivalent (310T/310S considered) is preferred.
- Post-Secondary Education in Heavy Duty Equipment Technician/Techniques is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of underground mining experience.
- Strong diagnostic troubleshooting and mechanical repair skills.
- Commitment to health safety and environmental standards.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Underground Common Core modules (U0000 U0001 U0002 U0012).
- Experience with fixed-plant shaft sinking hoists or welding/fabrication.
- Experience with electronic maintenance systems.
Compensation
The compensation range for the position is competitive and based on experience. Hourly base wages are to be between $20.00 to $30.00 CAD hourly incentive bonus.
