DescriptionThe Consulting Member of Technical Staff (CMTS) is a hands-on technical leader responsible for architecting prototyping and delivering advanced networking mechanisms that underpin large-scale AI systems. This role focuses on deep technical executiondesigning and implementing production-quality features across SmartNICs programmable switches and end-host networking stacks with a focus on real-world deployment performance and robustness.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Data Plane & Offload Development:
- Design and implement multi-path-aware routing algorithms for execution on SmartNICs and switches.
- Develop high-performance data plane logic using low-level systems programming and hardware SDKs for routing load-balancing and real-time telemetry offloads.
- Optimize packet processing pipelines for deterministic low-latency and high-throughput operation.
Congestion Control & Transport Algorithms:
- Implement congestion control mechanisms leveraging detailed network telemetry (queue depth loss latency link health).
- Build and optimize transport-level solutions that adaptively select paths and adjust rates in large-scale AI fabrics.
ML Collective & RDMA Systems:
- Develop collective communication transports for ML workloads that maintain high performance through congestion failures and irregular topologies.
- Implement and scale RDMA across multipath environments ensuring correctness and adherence to ordering guarantees.
- Extend RDMA-based architectures to storage and data services for enhanced efficiency and lower latency.
Validation & Performance Engineering:
- Develop frameworks simulators and proofs-of-concept to validate functionality scalability and resilience.
- Analyze and optimize performance across hardware (NIC/switch) kernel/firmware and user-space boundaries.
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues in distributed and low-level systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in systems networking or kernel-level engineering with proven hands-on technical depth.
- Expertise in RDMA congestion control transport protocols and high-performance packet processing.
- Strong implementation skills for complex hardware-proximal algorithms with a focus on correctness and performance.
- Proficiency in debugging cross-layer distributed and low-level technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale AI training/inference infrastructure.
- Familiarity with programmable networking pipelines and hardware SDKs.
- Track record of delivering complex production-quality networking features at scale.
