Where Youll Be Working

The Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service provides specialist psychiatric community intervention for adults across the Taree Forster Gloucester and Bulahdelah regions. The service delivers comprehensive assessment treatment and referral pathways for consumers and their families with additional specialist support in areas such as perinatal mental health eating disorders and other complex presentations.
The team provides a range of services including brief intervention acute and rehabilitation care coordination and recovery-focused group programs. Care is delivered across multiple modalities including telephone virtual care centre-based face-to-face appointments and outreach within consumers homes.
You will be onboarded into the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team and supported by the ACT Team Manager and Clinical Coordinator within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment focused on high-quality consumer care and staff wellbeing.

About the Role

This Nurse Practitioner role offers a broad and varied scope of practice within community mental health. You will provide advanced clinical assessment mental health triage treatment planning and safety planning for consumers with complex mental health needs. The role involves working closely with consumers and their families to deliver timely person-centred and recovery-oriented care.

You will utilise advanced clinical decision-making across a range of settings and care modalities contributing to continuity of care and positive consumer outcomes. Ongoing in-service education and professional development relevant to the service are provided supporting continuous learning and advanced practice.

About You

You are a motivated and experienced mental health clinician with a strong commitment to recovery-oriented practice. You demonstrate advanced clinical skills sound judgement and the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Criteria

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Nurse Practitioner or working towards Masters of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) or a qualification / Masters level deemed equivalent.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in mental health assessment intervention and care coordination

  • Strong commitment to consumer-centred trauma-informed and recovery-focused care

Excellent communication skills and ability to work across diverse care settings
