Position Summary
Student Worker Laboratory Support
Perfect for Medical Laboratory Science or Biomedical Science Students
Are you a Medical Laboratory Science or Biomedical Science student looking to gain realworld laboratory experience This student worker role offers handson exposure to some lab skills while supporting wet workshop preparation and daily operations.
What Youll Do:
Youll assist our team with a variety of laboratory and administrative tasks including:
- Preparing materials for workshops and training sessions
- Aliquoting samples and reagents
- Performing basic testing such as ABO typing and antibody screens (training provided)
- Labeling tubes and organizing supplies
- Collecting and recording data accurately
- Supporting general administrative duties as needed
What Were Looking For:
- Current student in Medical Laboratory Science Biomedical Science or a related program
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Comfort working with laboratory equipment and following protocols
- Reliable organized and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the department including filing data entry and handling customer requests
- Prepares presentations to company leaders
- Helps identify opportunities for process efficiency and collaborates with teams as necessary
- Assists with the analysis and resolution of department issues and makes recommendations as appropriate.
- Assists staff with various support activities upon request such as special projects reports etc.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
- Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
- Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures
Qualifications
Education
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university majoring in communications business or a health related discipline. required
Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word Excel and Outlook) required
- Experience with integrated HRIS/payroll systems required; experience with Ceridian preferred
- Experience in a health care setting preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Ability to quickly and accurately understand instructions and then work independently on assignments
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as Standard Operating Procedures safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and other department manuals.
