Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior WordPress Developer to work with a UK-based client. The candidate must have strong hands-on experience in building optimising and maintaining high-performance WordPress websites. Excellent communication skills are mandatoryaverage/okay communication will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Build customise and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor Gutenberg custom themes and child themes
- Develop and maintain clean scalable code using PHP HTML CSS and JavaScript
- Implement technical SEO fixes including Core Web Vitals optimisation
- Ensure best practices around UX SEO and conversion optimisation
- Integrate and manage forms and APIs (HubSpot Forms Gravity Forms third-party integrations)
- Configure and manage analytics tracking and tag management (GA4 GTM ad platforms)
- Set up and optimise hosting environments including DNS staging CDN and caching
- Ensure security backups and GDPR compliance
- Perform QA checks before deployment and follow release checklists
- Collaborate with digital marketing teams and communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders
- Work comfortably with project management tools and asynchronous workflows
- Train and support non-developers on content/editorial changes.
Required Skill
- Strong experience in WordPress development
- Excellent understanding of frontend & backend fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with technical SEO and performance optimisation
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written) mandatory
- Experience working with international clients (UK preferred)
Good to Have
- Experience with Shopify and/or WooCommerce
- Familiarity with Git / version control systems
