Eligibility:

This posting is only open to Permanent Teachers Probationary Teacher and Occasional Teachers currently employed by the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and External Applicants.

Salary Range :

The salary of a teacher shall be determined in accordance with Article 32 of the OECTA Collective Agreement according to QECO rating and years of experience. Effective September 1 2025 teacher salaries will range from $56288.00 to $119949.00 (based on a 1.0FTE).

This position also includes a Responsibility Allowance as per the OECTA Collective Agreement

  • Special Assignment Teacher French as a Second Language (FSL) Instructional Coach & English Language Learners (ELL) Instructional Coach
  • FTE Board Office Napanee Long-Term Occasional Assignment
Commencing immediately until further notice

Qualifications :

  • Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
  • Religious Education Part 1
  • Additional Qualifications in French as a Second Language
  • 5 years of classroom teaching experience preferred
Desired Assets:
  • Aspiring Catholic Leadership Part 1
  • SMHO (Mental Health in Action for Educators)
Application and Requirements :

  • Complete Faith Reference Portfolio (current within 1 year)
Notes:

The successful candidate will:

  • Support effective French as a Second Language instruction within our elementary and secondary schools for core extended and immersion programs.
  • Serve as Board lead on the French as a Second language steering committee.
  • Implement Board 3 Year French as a Second Language plan and help to develop the Board future plans.
  • Provide leadership to educators on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR )effective classroom practices.
  • Administer and provide leadership for secondary students challenging the Diplôme détudes en langue française (DELF ).
  • Support FSL educators with developing student-centred learning classrooms based on the framework of Universal Design for Learning (UDL )
  • Work as part of a central team to support educators and students with language acquisition and implementation of board Reaching Every Reader Plan.

The successful candidate will work out of the Board Office in Napanee and will be expected to provide their own vehicle to travel to school sites. Travel expenses will be paid according to Article 25 of the current Collective Agreement.
