Essential Job Functions: Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for greeting each guest promptly with a friendly greeting and smile

• Serves Alcoholic beverages within department and state liquor law guidelines

• Prepares all drinks with proper portions and ingredients in accordance with company policies and service standards.

• Engage with guests anticipate their needs and be able to resolve small issues when necessary

• Maintains a respectful control over guests at all times

• Monitors guests consumption of alcoholic beverages and intervenes as necessary following C.A.R.E. guidelines

• Processes all cash transactions by accepting money and making necessary change accurately and presents customers with bar receipt.

• Maintains a clean organized and fully stocked area in accordance with company policies

• Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to departmental and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.

• Previous cash handling and P.O.S. register experience.
• Must have at least 1 year of bartending experience in a high paced well-established organization
• Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
• Must be willing to participate in on-going training in the food and beverage field.
• Maintain knowledge of current property events promotions and attractions.
• Must have outgoing personality and be able to generate business.
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
• Comfortable working in a fast paced dynamic environment.
• Must present a well-groomed appearance.
• Must adhere to uniform/appearance requirements.
• Ability to appreciate and be friendly with all Harrahs Gulf Coast team members who are of various ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
• Able to accept direction of Senior Leadership.

Physical Mental & Environmental Demands:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

• Must be able to converse over the telephone in an environment with loud background noise.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to stoop bend and reach.

• Able to use hand motion when preparing and pouring all types of drinks for customers and cocktail servers.

• Able to use hand motion when cleaning and wiping bar counter.

• Able to bend pull and carry bar stock to refrigerators and cabinets.

• Responds to visual and verbal cues.

• Able to complete required paperwork for cash transactions.

• Able to operate a variety of equipment.

• Must be able to simultaneously handle the demands of many customers.

Must present a pleasant and professional appearance that customers will find appealing and easy to approach in order to initiate and engage in conversation
