Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney open to recent law school graduates and attorneys with up to 3 years of experience. This role offers hands-on experience in bankruptcy collections and civil litigation making it an excellent opportunity for new attorneys looking to build strong foundational skills and grow their legal careers.
Candidates must hold an active North Carolina law license and demonstrate strong analytical communication and organizational abilities. Exposure across multiple jurisdictions provides a well-rounded legal learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with and manage matters related to bankruptcy collections and civil litigation.

Attend court proceedings and hearings under applicable regulations and procedures.

Conduct legal research and analyze case law to support legal strategy and recommendations.

Draft pleadings motions legal correspondence and other case-related documents.

Ensure compliance with federal debt collection laws and state civil litigation rules.

Communicate professionally with clients colleagues opposing counsel and courts.

Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines effectively.
Required Qualifications

Active North Carolina law license (required).

0-3 years of legal experience (recent law graduates encouraged to apply).

Knowledge of federal debt collection laws and state civil litigation procedures (or strong willingness to learn).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Recent North Carolina UBE passage strongly preferred.

Interest in obtaining additional bar licenses in SC TN FL VA MD MI OH or other states.

Internship clerkship or externship experience in litigation or bankruptcy is a plus.
