Job Summary

The Semmes Murphey Clinic Surgery Center is hiring. We are looking for a sterile processing tech to work in our operating rooms during a variety of surgical procedures. You are a great fit for this role if you like being part of a team that is working hard to deliver excellent patient outcomes. You will work alongside our certified scrub techs and operating room staff to ensure supplies and equipment for the scheduled procedures are sterilized assembled and available.

The Surgery Center is open Monday-Friday. There are no weekends nights and no call schedule. Approximate hours are 6:30am-3:30pm.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians preference cards adhering to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure.
Wash sterilize and inspect equipment for proper working condition
Accurately label each item with name and expiration date
Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for the sterile processing area
Check equipment indicators for proper functioning
Preform required biological/chemical monitoring tests on all sterilizers and maintain logs according to established policy/procedure
Preform weekly inspections of all sterile items in facility

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Completion of a sterile technique program
One (1) year experience or training in a sterile processing environment

Preferred

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)
Experience working in a fast paced Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment
