**Core Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities encompass but are not limited to the following:
- Conduct comprehensive examinations accurately diagnose formulate treatment plans and prescribe interventions for patients with diseases injuries or disorders affecting the visual system including the eye and associated anatomical structures while also identifying related systemic conditions.
- Engage in preventive care initiatives and wellness promotion through education vision conservation strategies training programs vision screenings and advocacy for positive ocular health practices.-
Lead and conduct innovative vision research addressing complex and significant problems employing novel methodologies that yield critical insights and advancements in current optometric practices.
- Provide expert clinical guidance and recommendations on nationwide optometric issues informing best practices and addressing significant clinical considerations.
- Deliver a comprehensive range of clinical services aimed at managing and treating intricate optometric conditions ensuring high-quality care.
**Work Schedule**:The standard work hours are from 0730 to 1630 Monday through Friday inclusive of a one-hour unpaid meal break.
**Minimum Qualifications**:-
**Education**: Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from a school or college accredited by the Accreditation Council on Optometric Education (ACOE) of the American Optometric Association.-
**Experience**: A minimum of one year of clinical experience in optometry.-
**Licensure**: Must hold a current full active and unrestricted optometry license from any U.S. state district or territory.-
**Life Support Certification**: Must maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (ARC).-
**Security Clearance**: The candidate must be capable of passing a government background check and security clearance.
