Job Summary
Duties & Responsibilities
Planning of the work to be conducted by determining the requirements for the equipment- lifting and moving- and power equipment.
Sling complex loads and communicate effectively during crane operations.
Install steel wire ropes and secure ropes using thimbles and Crosby clamps.
Splice ropes and construct nautical knots as required.
Lifting and moving of material / equipment using different lifting and rigging techniques.
Lifting equipment maintenance and inspections to be done on overhead cranes (limits safety latches rope guides etc) and lifting equipment (lever hoist turfors and chain blocks).
On the job training of engineering learners as and when required.
Ensure maximum plant availability through proper maintenance.
Promote and maintain good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
