- Analyze market quality data and customer feedback related to vehicle steering systems to identify recurring issues and root causes.
- Lead cross-functional quality investigations and coordinate corrective action plans with engineering production and supply chain teams.
- Develop and implement quality improvement strategies to reduce defect rates and enhance product reliability.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics (e.g. field failure rates warranty claims NCRs) and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal manufacturing units to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
- Support the development of new steering system designs by providing quality input during the design validation and testing phases.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality incidents resolutions and lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949 IATF 16949 and other relevant automotive quality standards.
- Act as the primary liaison between customers field service teams and internal quality departments on quality-related concerns
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Automotive Engineering or a related field.
- 25 years of experience in automotive quality assurance product quality or field quality management preferably in steering systems or powertrain components.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g. Minitab Excel SPSS) and statistical process control (SPC).
- In-depth knowledge of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949 APQP PPAP FMEA 8D PDCA).
- Experience with root cause analysis techniques and corrective action systems (e.g. 8D 5 Whys Fishbone).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across departments.
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and supply chain dynamics.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Communications or a related field; MBA preferred. 25 years of progressive experience in marketing leadership roles with demonstrable success in driving growth. Proven experience managing cross-functional marketing teams and leading end-to-end campaign execution. Strong expertise in digital marketing channels including SEO/SEM social media marketing email marketing and content strategy.
