Job Summary

This is a remote position.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking to engage a Part-Time Bookkeeper to support our finance operations by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in QuickBooks. This role is specifically scoped to provide bookkeeping maintenance and reporting support and does not include bill payments or full-service bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented comfortable working independently and able to provide clear financial updates for internal and investor reporting.


Scope of Work (Core Responsibilities)

  • Update and maintain QuickBooks regularly ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

  • Categorize expenses and income accurately within QuickBooks.

  • Reconcile accounts as required to maintain clean books.

  • Prepare basic financial summaries and investor updates based on QuickBooks data.

  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.

  • Flag discrepancies missing entries or inconsistencies for review.

Additional / Optional Responsibilities (Added Advantage)

  • Support basic tax-related tasks (e.g. preparation support VAT or withholding summaries).

  • Assist with tracking SaaS subscriptions and recurring software expenses.


Working Conditions Details:
Work Environment:
This is a fully remote position.
Working Hours: A maximum of 9 hours per month.
Role Type: Part-time Remote.

Salary: $24 per hour for 9 hours maximum MONTHLY.
Time Zone: EDT


Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of accounting experience preferably in a startup or small business environment.

  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software (i.e QuickBooks Zoho Books) and advanced Excel skills. Experience working as a 1099 consultant is a plus.

  • Compliance & Tax Support: Ensure compliance with federal state and local tax regulations supporting tax filings and audits as needed.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes reduce errors and increase efficiency. Implement changes where needed to ensure scalability as the company grows.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in financial reporting reconciliations and analysis.

  • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying potential issues and providing solutions before they escalate.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working with startups investors or SaaS-enabled businesses.

  • Familiarity with procurement or logistics environments.

  • Knowledge of basic tax processes (added advantage).

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements and tax regulations. Expertise in U.S. tax laws with specific knowledge of Georgia tax regulations.

  • A solid understanding of US GAAP is a plus.
