THE ROLE

Pure Storage Cloud is entering its next phasebuilding a robust scalable and secure multi-cloud platform that serves as the foundation for our SaaS and cloud-native storage services. We are looking for a Cloud Architect to help define and evolve the core architecture and processes of Pure Storage Cloud working across control plane data plane and platform services.

This is a senior individual contributor role with broad technical influence. You will partner closely with SRE Platform and Product Engineering teams to ensure our cloud architecture supports global scale high reliability operational excellence and rapid product innovation.

This role is based inPrague Czech Republic working closely with teams in Prague and collaborating across our global team.

WHAT YOULL DO

• Define and evolve the cloudnative architecture for Pure Storage Cloud services with an Azurefirst mindset and a clear path to multicloud readiness including highly available regionally isolated controlplane and dataplane designs failure domains disaster recovery and capacity scaling strategies.
• Own service and platform boundaries APIs state management and data durability as well as deployment and release strategies (CI/CD pipelines progressive delivery canary and bluegreen rollouts) that enable safe frequent change at global scale.
• Establish and champion platform standards for security identity networking and compliance aligned with Azure best practices and partner with SRE and feature teams on design reviews operational readiness (SLIs/SLOs error budgets) and incident learnings that continuously harden the architecture.
• Shape the cloud infrastructure and internal developer platform including workload isolation upgrades multicluster and multiregion strategies Infrastructure as Code and automation patterns; help build guardrails and paved roads that improve developer experience and velocity without compromising reliability or cost.
• Work crossfunctionally with Product Management Security and customerfacing engineering to translate product requirements and customer scenarios into scalable architectures lead threat modeling and dataprotection/compliance considerations support complex customer escalations and evaluate/introduce new cloud services and patterns where they add clear value.
• We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore you will be expected to work from the Prague office in compliance with Pures policies unless you are on PTO or work travel or other approved leave.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 8 years of experience in software platform or infrastructure engineering including 4 years designing and operating cloudnative distributed systems with strong handson experience on at least one major public cloud (Azure strongly preferred).
• Proven track record architecting and operating productiongrade SaaS platforms or cloud services at scale with deep understanding of distributed systems and consistency tradeoffs high availability and disaster recovery patterns and faulttolerant multiregion designs.
• Strong foundation in cloud networking identity and security fundamentals plus experience working closely with SRE / Platform / Production Engineering teams on reliabilitybydesign (SLIs/SLOs) observability (e.g. OpenTelemetry Prometheus/Grafana ELK) capacity planning and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with stateful services storage systems or data platforms; familiarity with controlplane / dataplane separation; and exposure to multiregion and/or multicloud architectures in production environments.
• Clear structured communicator able to explain complex systems to both engineers and nontechnical stakeholders; a pragmatic architect with strong judgment and a bias toward simplicity; comfortable influencing across teams without direct authority with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
