Job Summary

Okoboji CSD is searching for 2 Junior High Softball Coaches to lead our JH softball program for the 2026 season and beyond. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the game of softball while promoting a positive and competitive environment. Coaches are expected to run practices that will develop skills necessary in the sport while building a positive culture built around effort and teamwork. Coaching Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all aspects of the junior school softball and implement effective practice plans and game a positive culture that aligns with the mission of the Okoboji assistant coaches and collaborate with the athletic student-athletes academic and personal program logistics including equipment scheduling and compliance with all school conference and IGHSAU & IHSAA the athletic program for purposes of increasing interest and areas used for practice and game and supervise studentsAdvise students and parents on the athletic code of conduct including consequences for violation and coordinate with the Activities Director in instances of possible violations of the code of inventory of uniforms and equipment within the Qualifications: Valid coaching license through the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the experience as a coach knowledge of coaching techniques and proceduresDemonstrated ability to effectively lead instruct and supervise students athletes and a coaching to work under in organization communication and interpersonal Process:Interested candidates should submit the following:Letter of interestResumeList of professional referencesSubmit materials to:Eric ClouseActivities Director Okoboji
