Your role as a EMT - Any Level (Basic Advanced Intermediate Paramedic)

As a Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Southwest Health System Cortez Colorado you will play a crucial role in providing essential emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. Your expertise in basic knowledge and skills will enable you to deliver high-quality patient care while adhering to the standards set forth by the Code of Colorado Regulations Emergency Medical Services 6 CCR 1015-3. Working under medical oversight you will engage with a comprehensive EMS response team ensuring seamless communication and swift action during high-pressure situations. Utilizing basic equipment typically found on an ambulance you will perform life-saving interventions that serve as a vital link between the scene of an emergency and the wider health care system.

To excel as a Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) at Southwest Health System Cortez Colorado candidates must possess a robust set of skills and certifications.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Regulatory/Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Emergency Medical Technician Certification within state of Colorado.
• Current BLS certification.
• Must obtain certifications in IS-100.b or (Introduction to the Incident Command System)
  IS-200.b or (Applying Incident Command System (ICS) to Healthcare Organizations)
  IS-700.a (National Incident Management System)
  IS-800.b (National Response Framework an Introduction).
• EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Course) within six months of employment.
• PHTLS (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support) and EPC (Emergency Pediatric Care) certification is preferred but not required.
• Haz-Mat Awareness is preferred but not required.
• Valid motor vehicle operators license with continued clear driving record required.

Language Skills:

• Able to communicate effectively in English
• both verbally and in writing.
• Additional languages preferred.

Skills:

• Basic computer knowledge.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
