Fabric Technician
Location: Leeds (Static Client Site)
About the Role:
WPS are looking to recruit a Fabric Technician to join our team based at a client site in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical handson individual with strong building fabric skills to work within a professional facilities management environment.
You will play a key role in maintaining the condition safety and presentation of the building carrying out planned and reactive maintenance works across fabric and general building services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned and reactive fabric maintenance tasks across the site
- Undertake general building repairs including:
- Carpentry and joinery works
- Basic plumbing (e.g. taps toilets sinks)
- Painting decorating and patch repairs
- Ceiling tile replacement and flooring repairs
- Door lock and ironmongery maintenance
- Carry out site inspections and identify fabric defects
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with health & safety procedures
- Accurately record works through CAFM systems or job sheets
- Coordinate with specialist subcontractors when required
- Maintain excellent customer service and client communication
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Proven experience in a Fabric Technician Handyperson or Building Maintenance role
- Multiskilled background within building fabric trades
- Good understanding of health & safety in a facilities environment
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable:
- Trade qualification (e.g. Carpentry / Joinery General Building or Fabric Maintenance)
- Fire door inspection or repair experience
- Basic plumbing or mechanical knowledge
- Experience working in a commercial or occupied site
