We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer (m/f/d) who will take our development and quality assurance processes to the next this role you will be responsible for building further developing and optimizing our software as well as closely collaborating with various teams to ensure high software quality.

Project Description
OBU (On-Board Unit) is an integrated software and hardware solution for public transport vehicles such as buses and trams. From displaying the planned route to the driver to providing realtime information to passengers the solution is used in hundreds of vehicles across Germany and is utilized daily by thousands of people.
Renewal of radio communication and base stations as well as adjustments to our ITCS software.
The customer KöR GbR would like to renew the existing outdated radio system technology renew interfaces between radio and ITCS and establish voice recording.
Thanks to close integration with TETRA and ITCS systems from TSystems we develop all components in direct cooperation with our customers to ensure the solution perfectly meets user needs.
Responsibilities
- Get familiar with existing applications and further develop existing software solutions
- Analyze and fix bugs as well as process maintenance tickets promptly
- Optimize server-side code and database queries to improve performance and scalability
- Maintain and enhance existing applications using modern technologies
- Ensure code quality by creating and maintaining unit tests
- Conduct peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Support junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
- Work in an agile Scrum environment and actively participate in sprint planning and retrospectives
- Follow best practices in version control (Git) and utilize build tools (Maven)
Qualifications :
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience with the relevant skill set
- Excellent knowledge of Java and experience working with large complex codebases
- Solid experience with Hibernate Maven Jenkins and Docker
- Experience working in agile projects and teams
- Good knowledge of C and the ability to rewrite C code in Java
- Expert-level knowledge in at least one IDE (Eclipse IntelliJ Visual Studio)
- Experience with Git and Jira
- Strong analytical thinking independent work style and affinity for solving complex development tasks
- High awareness of code quality structure and maintainability
- Excellent German and English skills both written and spoken (B2C1)
- Strong communication and problemsolving skills
