Due to increased pupil numbers and additional learning needs within Early Years the school is seeking a committed and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team.
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will support children aged 35 within Nursery and Reception helping them develop early learning skills confidence and positive learning behaviours. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS Lead to support learning through structured activities free-flow play and targeted interventions.
You will play a key role in supporting children with SEN speech and language delays EAL and social or emotional needs ensuring inclusive access to learning and positive early school experiences.
Support learning through play-based and structured EYFS activities
Work one-to-one and in small groups with children requiring additional support
Support pupils with SEN including autism ADHD and developmental delays
Assist with phonics early reading mark-making and early maths activities
Promote positive behaviour emotional regulation and independence
Support classroom routines including transitions carpet time snack time and tidy-up
Assist with outdoor learning and physical development activities
Observe record and contribute to assessments of childrens progress
Work collaboratively with EYFS staff SENCO and external professionals
Support children with personal care needs where required in line with school policies
Maintain high standards of safeguarding health and safety at all times
The successful candidate will be caring patient and passionate about early childhood education. You will understand the importance of routine consistency and emotional security in EYFS settings and be committed to inclusive practice.
You should demonstrate:
Experience working in EYFS Nursery or early years environments
Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development
Experience or strong interest in supporting SEN and inclusive education
A calm nurturing and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility and resilience in a busy classroom environment
