Key Elements Of The Role:

• Interviews and screens individuals for supportive counseling;

• Plans implements and evaluates an individualized treatment plan for each patient;

• Monitors patient progress and makes recommendations for further treatment if necessary;

• Provides individual and group counseling services;

• Maintains patient records and reports;

• Collaborates with supervisors and clinic staff regarding patient progress and patient services;

• May conduct education and information sessions workshops and training programs for individuals with substance use disorders and members of their community

Minimum Qualifications:

• Applicants must either have a current certification from NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)

OR

• Possession of the requirements necessary to be designated as a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) with one year of experience or satisfactory completion of a training program in the treatment of substance use disorders.

• All applicants must uphold the OASAS Scope of Practice and the Canon of Ethical Principals.

**Candidates MUST have Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) AND a current certification from NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).

** We are NOT seeking seeking CASAC-T certification.
