The Opportunity
We are seeking a high-calibre Chemistry specialist to join a flagship Science department within an Outstanding Barnet school. This is a maternity cover role running until the end of the 2025/26 academic year. The school is an academic powerhouse with a significant number of students pursuing STEM subjects at elite universities. You will be joining a faculty that prioritises practical-led inquiry and academic rigour.
Core Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality Chemistry lessons across all Key Stages including the delivery of the AQA or OCR A-Level specification to motivated Sixth Formers.
Organise and lead sophisticated laboratory experiments ensuring a high standard of workshop safety and technical precision.
Collaborate with the Science technical team to synthesise complex theoretical concepts with engaging practical demonstrations.
Maintain the high standards of the department through rigorous assessment and personalised feedback for students preparing for terminal examinations.

Requirements & Compensation
Essential: Must hold QTS and a relevant Honours degree in Chemistry or a related Science discipline.
Experience: Proven track record of delivering successful outcomes at Key Stage 5 (A-Level) is highly desirable.
Salary: Paid on the National Teachers Pay Scale (M/UPS) commensurate with experience.
