Overview
About the Role
The primary purpose of the Environmental Services Worker position is to perform various tasks to maintain a clean safe and sanitary environment at University Hospital.
Responsibilities
What Youll Do
- Keeps patient and non-patient areas of the facility clean safe and orderly condition.
- Cleans hospital patient rooms baths showers laboratories offices corridors lobbies lounges restrooms elevators stairways locker rooms and other areas as assigned using approved cleaners and hospital approved germicide.
- Strips linen from beds washes beds and mattresses using hospital approved germicide remakes beds after discharge.
- Dusts furniture and equipment empties waste baskets trash recycling and medical waste containers washes walls ceilings woodwork windows door panels and sills polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Performs light moves and set ups.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
What Youll Bring
- Ability to read write speak understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position; prior experience in institutional environmental services is preferred.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is$ 16.49$ 17.50per hour in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
