We are currently seeking: A part-time Bunker Gear Technician to join our this role you will be responsible to maintain SAFD firefighting gear to NFPA 1851 standards.
Your responsibilities:
- Conduct annual inspection of all SAFD Structural Firefighting Gear.
- Clean and decontaminate Structural Firefighting Gear as needed.
- Track and maintain history of all SAFD Personal Protective Clothing.
- Hours: Less than 30 hours per week.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.

Requirements and Skills:
- Ability to prioritize work schedule.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.

- A working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Must possess or obtain within three months of employment NFPA 1851 PPE Advanced Care and Cleaning Certification.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
- Must be able to bend and stoop.
