TITLE: Caseworker
TEAM/PROGRAMME: Child Protection Program - Gaza Response.LOCATION: Greater Cairo.
GRADE: 6CONTRACT LENGTH: Till 15 May 2026

Child SAFEGUARDING:

Level 3: The post holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g. once a week or more) or intensively (e.g. four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work country programs; or are visiting country programs; or because they are responsible for implementing the police checking/vetting

process staff.

We work in 117 countries and work together with our partners to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their Egypt Save the Children International has been working to ensure that childrens rights are respected protected and promoted since 1982. We carry out both long-term development work and more recently emergency humanitarian work.

This project aims to ensure that children and youth in vulnerable situations to have their rights respected and possess sound self-reliance capacities that allow them to improve their life perspectives. It will also target national and community organizations to enable them to provide effective protection and self-reliance services for children and youth.

ROLE PURPOSE:

This position will be primarily responsible for providing intensive case management for children and adolescents from Palestinian beneficiaries including best interest assessments and the Case Management Steps to Protect

approach. This post requires frequent travel in Greater Cairo as interviews take place in SC different field offices.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Case Management Coordinator

Staff directly reporting to this post: None

Responsibilities

- Conducting best interest assessment interviews and drafting relevant reports to assess the childrens needs.

- Making referrals to and coordinating with partner organizations.

- Following up and monitoring individual cases of unaccompanied minors and children at risk within the context of Cairo.

- Ensuring Case Management is implemented in line with Save the Childrens policies and procedures and adhering to donor requirements and guidelines.

- Support the project team in developing the project activities and the monthly plan for Cairo children.

- Develop monthly reports on their case load.

- Ensure that the activities are implemented in full respect of the child safeguarding polices of SC

- Facilitate when necessary orientation sessions workshops follow-up visits and other activities for the project.

- Co-facilitate different psychosocial support sessions and awareness sessions for the children with other disciplines including the Psychosocial Activities team; -

- Supporting the program teams as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Background:

Social studies Political Science Psychology Sociology.

Essential:

1-2 years of previous relevant experience in the development/humanitarian field with a focus on child protection.

Excellent drafting interpersonal interviewing and communication skills

Proficiency in Arabic and English written and spoken is a must.

Demonstrated ability to work with highly vulnerable groups.

Awareness about the security context and political situation in Egypt for refugees.

Able to work effectively within a team and/or individually.

This is a field job; the candidate must be willing to work in the field effectively.

Well-organized with strong time-management skills.

Ability to apply Self-care techniques.

Shares Save the Childrens vision and values.

Desirable:

Experience in case management/ working with children.

Previous working experience with NGOs and in refugee-related contexts.
