Programme Overview:

Schroders two-year apprenticeship programmes give school and college leavers a hands-on introduction to investment management and the opportunity to develop key skills gain professional qualifications and build an industry network. We have a wide range of opportunities across our business.

Investment20/20

You will join as an apprentice as part of theInvestment20/20 programme. You will have opportunities to meet and network with apprentices across the industry as well as participate in technical skills training socials and insight events.

The base

Youll be based at our headquarters in the City of London working with customers the business and technology to delivery leading customer experience based on understanding customer needs and wants and business goals. We need inquisitive individuals who are eager to ask questions and get involved with the team.

The Team

On this programme youll be part of the Group Governance team the function that helps ensure decisions across the organisation are made in a transparent wellinformed and accountable way. At its core governance is about enabling groups of people to make the right decisions.

The Group Governance team supports governance across the entire Schroders plc Group. This includes Schroders plc the groups holding companies and all regulated entities and subsidiaries across our three business pillars: Public Markets Schroders Capital (Private Markets) and Wealth. We also work with joint ventures investment trusts and funds.

We ensure the Group complies with the UK Listing Rules maintain statutory registers and corporate records and make sure all companies meet their filing obligations with Companies House and equivalent authorities internationally.

We also support the Schroders plc Board and management in implementing communicating and managing appropriate standards of corporate governance for the Group including through the Boards governance framework.

What youll do

You will be part of a relatively modestly sized function with the opportunity to be involved in a variety of tasks. You will also gain an understanding of the legislative requirements for the of the projects you might be involved in include:

  • Researching governance topics such as changes to law and regulations.
  • Drafting board papers taking minutes and investment trust annual reports responding to audit requests with support.
  • Drafting and releasing stock exchange announcements for investment trusts.
  • Organising meetings and agenda setting building board packs preparing and circulating documentation.
  • Assisting with the preparation for the Schroders plc Annual General Meeting.
  • Preparation of micro-entity accounts.
  • Liaising with teams across the business on answering routine queries.
  • Supporting strategic change across the business including acquisitions and sales of group businesses.

Who were looking for

  • Are living in England and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least three years prior to the apprenticeship start date
  • Will be aged 18 or over by 7 September 2026
  • Are a recent school or college leaver (A-levels BTECs or equivalent) or are unsure whether university is the right path for you
  • Are not enrolled in another government-funded apprenticeship or further education programme when you start with us
  • Are ambitious and enthusiastic eager to learn about the industry
  • Flexible with a keen eye for detail and good IT skills.
  • Natural flair for developing relationships and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications required:

  • A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects no minimum UCAS points required.
  • Level 2 in both English and Maths (GCSE grade 9-4 or equivalent) for those undertaking a level 3 or higher apprenticeship.

Skills that will help:

  • Flexible approach and willingness to engage in various tasks and projects.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Numerate with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service is beneficial.
