Job Summary
Title:
Operational Safety Suitability and Effectiveness SMEKBR is seeking an Operational Safety Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) subject matter expert (SME) to join our team in Albuquerque NM supporting the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC). An active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
The OSS&E SME will support develop and establish Operational Safety Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) Support capability for NDS and the full spectrum of B61-12 and W80-1 and W80-4 related Programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support develop and establish Operational Safety Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) Support capability for NDS and the full spectrum of B61-12 and W80-1 and W80-4 related Programs.
- Identify assess and prioritize OSS&E activities and required documentation across the entire NDS portfolio.
- Quantify impacts and model different scenarios to enable the project team to proactively address potential challenges and to formulate robust weapon and equipment sustainment management plans.
- Support AFNWC/NDS development and sustainment of the programs and processes that assure engineering rigor and discipline are applied to the TKA weapon subcomponent hardware during weapon system sustainment and aging surveillance test and evaluation (T&E).
- Support AFNWC/NDS-managed TKA Test Variants and support equipment.
Qualifications:
Required:
- An active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this job which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain.
- Be familiar with AFI 63-103 for Joint Nuclear Weapons Life Cycle Management AFI 63-101/20-101 and AFMCI 63-1201 for Implementing OSS&E and Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE).
- Bachelors degree and 6 years of experience related to Nuclear Weapons Life Cycle management; an additional 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities by levels of importance and suspense dates.
- Ability to work with a team of multi-disciplined specialists.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels including a matrixed environment.
