The mission of the Secretary of States office is to serve the public by meeting its legal responsibilities of collecting securing and communicating information that enhances commerce ensures the integrity of Louisianas elections and preserves presents and makes accessible government information essential to Louisianas operations and its recorded history.
Join our team and drive the communications strategy for the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum as a Public Information Officer 1 or 2.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:- Building and Supporting Teams:The ability to combine ones actions and efforts with others to work toward achieving a common goal.
- Communicating Effectively:The ability to convey information ideas and emotions using structured communication methods that promote understanding and engagement.
- Demonstrating Accountability:The ability to take ownership of actions behaviors performance decisions and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in public relations journalism marketing content creation social media management or graphic design; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties:
Scheduling and leading tours.
Scheduling and coordinating special events.
Experience in marketing to include social media (preferable)
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with schools teachers support groups and museum staff
Occasional work outside of normal schedule (evenings and weekends)

Location: Shreveport LA.
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional
