Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.
Each day you will perform a variety of imaging examinations including X-rays ultrasound diagnostic fluoroscopy CT/CAT scans and MRIs while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
To excel you must deeply understand diagnostic imagings critical importance encompassing expertise in workflow patient positioning and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
- Ensures a professional and responsive atmosphere by greeting patients visitors staff and physicians promptly and courteously. Refers to each individual by name when appropriate. Screens individuals by requesting to see identification or visitor pass.
- Image Quality: Consistently produces quality images within hospital guidelines and department standards (i.e. patient safety repeat rate exam protocols film processing inc.)
- Documentation: Accurately completes documentation according to hospital and department guidelines including exam performed billing film labeling computer entry etc. Performs other clerical duties as necessary (e.g. login of patients filing films etc.)
- Competency/Training: Maintains clinical competency assuming responsibility for upgrading skills through participation in in-service education and other continuing education activities. Participates in the training of departmental personnel and students.
- Infection Control: Assists MD and other staff in preparing for and performing procedures consistently following sterile technique infection control guidelines and department standards.
- Workflow: Evaluates personal and departmental work volume and flow to ensure efficient departmental patient care. Prioritizes work according to urgency and resources. Responds effectively in emergency situations.
Job Requirements
Required
- Must have satisfactorily completed a formal radiologic technology training program accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and the California Department of Public Health Radiation Health Branch (CDPH-RHB). and 7 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist upon hire and
- working in and proficient in 2 advanced modalities or
- 5 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and working and proficient in 3 advanced modalities one of which must be CT or Mammography.
- Medical Radiographer: CA upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR upon hire and
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT upon hire and
- Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA upon hire
