Job Description CNC Lathe Operator cum Mastercam Programmer
Location: Singapore
Job Summary
The CNC Lathe Operator cum Mastercam Programmer is responsible for programming setting up operating and maintaining CNC lathe machines to manufacture precision components. The role involves developing CNC programs using Mastercam optimizing machining processes ensuring dimensional accuracy and meeting quality and production targets in compliance with engineering drawings and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop modify and optimize CNC lathe programs using Mastercam based on engineering drawings and specifications
Set up CNC lathe machines including tooling selection fixture setup and work offsets
Operate CNC lathe machines to produce high-precision components as per tolerance requirements
Interpret technical drawings GD&T symbols and process sheets accurately
Perform first-article inspection and in-process quality checks using measuring instruments
Troubleshoot machining issues tooling problems and program errors
Optimize cycle times tool life and machining efficiency to improve productivity
Conduct routine machine maintenance and ensure machines are in safe working condition
Maintain proper documentation for programs tooling lists and inspection records
Coordinate with production quality and engineering teams to meet delivery schedules
Follow workplace safety procedures and comply with Singapore manufacturing standards
Essential Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering Machining or a related field
Minimum 36 years of hands-on experience in CNC Lathe operations and programming
Proven experience using Mastercam for CNC lathe programming
Experience working in a precision manufacturing or machining environment
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong proficiency in CNC Lathe programming and operation
Hands-on experience with Mastercam (Lathe Module)
Good knowledge of cutting tools inserts holders and machining parameters
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T
Familiarity with measuring instruments such as vernier calipers micrometers bore gauges and height gauges
Understanding of machining materials such as steel stainless steel aluminum and alloys
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
