Position Summary
The Supplier Development Engineer will collaborate with Engineering Manufacturing and Sourcing on all activity required to effectively manage supplier quality requirements & supplier development. Primary areas of focus will be supplier auditing qualification continuous improvement and defect resolution. The SDE has primary ownership and responsibility for supplier quality throughout Swagelok operations for assigned commodities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilties
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: |
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering technical or quality-related field required; advanced problem-solving training preferred (SPC/statistical analysis; DOE). Maintains on-going education in related areas.
Experience: 2 years experience (5 years preferred) in manufacturing process design and development quality planning or engineering and/or quality control supervision. ASQ-CQE preferred. 6-12 months ISO/QS9000 implementation and/or auditing or ASQ-CQA preferred; advanced problem-solving experience preferred (DOE statistical analysis).
Skills/Knowledge: Strong computer skills including basic Word PowerPoint and Project and intermediate-level Excel; advanced statistical data analysis skills; working knowledge of statistical software such as NCSS Statistica or Minitab; strong knowledge of metrology and general mechanical inspection methods and procedures; familiarity with Total Quality and Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred. Demonstrates proficiency in preventative control planning and process validation methods disciplined problem solving troubleshooting quality and manufacturing systems and auditing. Demonstrates product knowledge and expertise within assigned area.
