Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Ultra-Precision Diamond Turning Optical Technician to support our advanced optics manufacturing team. This position requires experience in CNC machining optics and metrology with a strong focus on precision accuracy and quality. The right candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a passion for working with advanced technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain ultra-precision diamond turning machines for optical component manufacturing
- Set up program and troubleshoot CNC equipment for complex optics projects
- Perform inspection and measurement of optical components using advanced metrology tools and techniques
- Interpret engineering drawings specifications and technical requirements
- Collaborate with engineering quality and production teams to ensure parts meet rigorous standards
- Document processes maintain accurate production records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- 23 years of hands-on experience with CNC machining and optics manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of optical fabrication principles and metrology techniques
- Familiarity with ultra-precision diamond turning equipment preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints GD&T and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing exceptional quality work
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
