Job Summary

Koniag IT Systems LLC a Koniag Government Services company is seeking a Systems Engineer to support KITS and our government customer in Washington DC. This is a hybrid opportunity requires 3days onsite and 2days offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health dental and vision insurance 401K with company matching flexible spending accounts paid holidays three weeks paid time off and are looking for a highly qualified experienced and self-motivated individual to perform the duties of a Server Engineer to support a potential future business opportunity located in Washington ideal Server Engineer will support our enterprise server infrastructure. This position will focus on implementing maintaining and troubleshooting server systems and related Server Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organizations server infrastructure. Primary responsibilities include:Implement and maintain Windows Server environmentsConfigure and manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere Hyper-V)Perform server patching upgrades and maintenanceTroubleshoot hardware and software issues in server environmentsConfigure and maintain backup and recovery solutionsImplement security controls and ensure compliance with security policiesManage user access and permissions in Active DirectorySupport server monitoring and alerting systemsCreate and maintain server documentationParticipate in infrastructure projects and implementationsSupport disaster recovery procedures and testingCollaborate with other IT teams on integrated solutionsParticipate in after-hours maintenance windows as neededProvide escalation support for server-related issuesEducation and Experience:Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field5 years experience in server administration and support3 years experience with virtualization technologiesExperience with Windows Server operating systemsRequired Skills and Competencies:Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems ()Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere Hyper-V)Understanding of storage technologies and backup solutionsExperience with Active Directory management and Group PolicyBasic PowerShell scripting capabilities for automationKnowledge of server hardware configurations and troubleshootingExperience with server monitoring and management toolsUnderstanding of networking concepts as they relate to serversStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsGood documentation and communication skillsBase-level certification (CompTIA A Security or Network)Core certification (MCSA or equivalent)Desired Skills and Competencies:Experience in government IT environmentsKnowledge of cloud technologies (Azure AWS)Experience with Linux server administrationFamiliarity with container technologiesKnowledge of configuration management toolsExperience with disaster recovery planning and implementationITIL certification or knowledge of ITIL processesSecurity Requirements:This position requires a Criminal background Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
