The Department of Education and Early Learning (DEEL)s mission is to ensure that all Seattle children have the greatest opportunity to succeed in school and in life and to graduate from school ready for college and a career. DEEL works to achieve this mission by administering the Families Education Preschool and Promise (FEPP) Levy via partnerships with Seattle Public Schools Seattle-King County Public Health and diverse community-based organizations. As a representative of the Mayor and City Council DEEL invests in programming to improve student outcomes and measures performance by tracking specific academic indicators. DEEL is a data-driven organization that practices ongoing quality improvement based on results.
To support DEELs mission and vision for Seattle we are looking for a highly motivated self-starting Data and Evaluation Advisor. In this role you will play an integral role in the data teams efforts to support DEELs kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) strategies efficiently and effectively improving student outcomes by leading the planning implementation and management of investment monitoring and evaluation projects. You will support DEELs leadership along with stakeholders by maintaining a largely project-based and dynamic workload with a wide array of responsibilities including collecting and analyzing data summarizing results and communicating results and recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders. You will have the opportunity to effect positive change in the educational experiences of Seattles youth as part of a dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment.

This Civil Service position is classified as a Strategic Advisor 1 Human Service. It is exempt from FLSA (not eligible for overtime).
Salary: The full pay range for this classification is $51.88 - $77.82 hourly. This pay range is reflective of the 2026 salary schedule. The hourly pay range for this individual position has been identified as $65.00 - $68.00.
Hiring Timeline:Interviews for this position are tentatively scheduled for Monday March 2 through Thursday March 5 2026 with an anticipated hire in late March to early April 2026.

Schedule: This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule. Employees will be expected to be in-office three days a week. Individual schedules will be based on agreement between the employee and their supervisor.
