  • About the Unit/Dept.: Holy Cross Health provides compassionate patient-centered birthing care with advanced monitoring and pain-management techniques. As a member of the Labor and Delivery team you will collaborate with obstetricians laborists anesthesiologists neonatologists and nurses to ensure a successful labor and delivery. With a delivery rate of approximately 10000 babies annually Holy Cross in Silver Spring is the leading birthing hospital in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Description:

  • Full-Time
  • Reporting to the Director of Labor & Delivery
  • Performs patient care duties delegated by the RN related to patients personal needs comfort and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides hygiene mobility and procedural care across various age groups.
  • Proficient in setting up and using respiratory and cardiac equipment.
  • Utilizes aseptic techniques for various procedures maintaining isolation standards.
  • Assists Anesthesiologist with epidural and spinal anesthesia placement.
  • Maintains anesthesia supplies equipment and cleanliness in patient areas.
  • Orders and stocks routine and specialized supplies.
  • Monitors vital signs and reports to RN for various patient populations.
  • Other duties as assigned

What you will need

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification as a nursing assistant by the Maryland State Board of Nursing
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
