Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC)is looking for aLicensedVeterinary Technicianto join our dynamic team! We are looking for an LVT who is passionate about animal welfare self-motivated team oriented compassionate and dedicated. This is a fast-paced job providing surgery and medical care for almost 5000 shelter animals per year.

RASKCprovides animal services to 24 cities and unincorporated King County including helping abandoned orphaned and injured animals providing Animal Control services reuniting lost animals with their owners spaying neutering and finding new homes through our Pet Adoption Center and offering many volunteer opportunities. RASKC is a national leader in improving animal outcomes.

ABOUT RECORDS & LICENSING SERVICES

The Records and Licensing Services Division (RALS) is a division of the Department of Executive Services.

RALS operates within a statutory framework that is prescribed by state law and county code. Many of the services administered by the division are mandated by state law and are provided in King County on a regional basis across jurisdictional boundaries. RALS also provides certain local services to unincorporated King County and by contract with many local municipalities throughout King addition RALS is responsible for providing internal services that are necessary for purposes of business efficiency and meeting various legal responsibilities.

RALS is responsible for:

  • Recording documents related to real property sales and other transactions and making them accessible for members of the public businesses and other government agencies
  • Collecting and dispersing real estate excise tax payments on the conveyance of real property in King County
  • Providing licensing and information services and promoting public safety by administering and enforcing vehicle and vessel licensing and taxi and transportation network company (TNC) regulations
  • Providing internal mail services and physical and electronic records management services to all county agencies
  • Providing animal care and control services for the protection of property human health and safety and promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare through education and licensing programs via public and private sector partnerships

Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills

We are looking for Candidates Who Are:

  • A Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT or equivalent) who is licensed to practice in Washington State.
  • New graduates from anAVMA accredited program are welcome to apply.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Maintains composure during emergencies and high-stress situations
  • Adaptability: Adjusts quickly to changing priorities patient needs and shelter demands.
  • Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with veterinarians technicians assistants and volunteers.
  • Problem-Solving: Uses critical thinking to address unexpected medical or operational challenges.
  • Attention to Detail: Follows instructions precisely and ensures accuracy in medical care and documentation.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manages appointments tasks and supply needs in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with High Quality High Volume Spay neuter surgery
  • Experience in Shelter Medicine
  • Familiarity working with Microsoft Outlook Microsoft Teams Waitwhile and Chameleon software

Supplemental Information

  • Selected candidate(s) will go through a background and reference checks drug screening and a pre-employment physicaldemonstrating the ability to perform moderate to difficult strenuous manual tasks including lifting animals weighing up to forty (40) pounds on a frequent basis.
