Job Summary
The Health Maintenance Activity Attendant is a person who is specifically trained competent and performs assigned functions of health maintenance activity attendantto the client in their residence under the direction instruction and supervision of qualified Agency personnel/Agencys Licensed Health Care this role you will report to the Operations Manager/IHSS Clinical Program Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Understands and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures
Understands and promotes client rights
Performs health maintenance activities in accordance with the plan of care and Agency policy. Duties include but are not limited to: skin care ambulation bathing dressing feeding hair care mouth care nail care positioning shaving toileting transfers medication management protective oversight bowel/blader care respiratory care etc. (Minor attendants will not be permitted to operate floor-based vertical powered patient/resident lift devices ceiling-mounted vertical powered patient/resident lift devices and powered sit-to-stand patient/resident lift devices (lifting devices)
Performs household services essential to care in the home as assigned
Completes appropriate service notes completely accurately and in a timely manner as per Agency policy
Reports changes in the clients condition and needs to the supervisor
Participates in all required orientation training competency and in-service programs as scheduled and necessary per Agency policy
Is available for and participates in the supervisory visits per Agency direction
Participates in coordination of client care as required
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
Demonstrate competency in caring for the client to the satisfaction of the client or Authorized Representative
Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly
Ability to carry out written and verbal directions read and write
Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
Must be able to lift pull push and carry heavy weight; must be able to bend twist stoop kneel and reach
May be a family member subject to the reimbursement and service limitations (family members cannot be reimbursed for homemaker services)
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
Must be at least 16 years old
Shall not represent themselves to the public as a licensed nurse a certified nurses aide a licensed practical or professional nurse a registered nurse or a registered professional nurse
Shall not have had their license as a nurse or certified nurse aide suspended or revoked or their application for such license or certification denied
