PCC is the market leader in manufacturing large complex structural investment castings airfoil castings forged components and highly engineered critical fasteners for aerospace applications.
The PCC Structurals Large Parts Campus (LPC) is looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Director with expertise in leading teams building EHS management systems and implementing a proactive safety culture. This person will:
- Provide leadership and assistance to all LPC plants with the implementation of programs and processes necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
- Manage a team of EHS professionals by identifying and driving standard work coaching team members to be effective change leaders and growing staff skills to support career development and achievement of goals and KPIs.
- Work with Division Safety to develop strategic direction and communications for LPC including Significant Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention programs
- Partner with engineering and facilities teams to implement robust Management of Change and Contractor Safety management programs.
- Participate in operational reviews of all plants in LPC.
- Own the development of critical site Key Performance Indicators and routinely report out on LPC metrics to site leaders and Division leadership.
- Collaboratively work with site leaders and lead critical Environmental Health and Safety initiatives across the sites with a strong focus on injury prevention and compliance management.
- Lead the process of establishing and achieving EHS goals for the sites assist in determining EHS priorities for plants and provide direction on managing programs/policies and providing technical expertise for management of all environmental health and safety issues with special emphasis on health and safety.
- Audit site programs such as lockout confined space machine guarding fall protection electrical safety ergonomics exposure monitoring hazard communication and behavioral based safety program and provide expertise in required changes and upgrades.
- Assist sites with compiling and reporting all required company and regulatory reports accurately and on time.
- Keep current with changing regulations and EHS trends and alert management to areas of risk.
- Closely partner with Division Environmental personnel on maintaining compliance with a broad portfolio of Environmental compliance activities.
Required Experience
- Bachelors degree in Safety Industrial Hygiene Engineering or equivalent degree required.
- 15 years demonstrated experience leading teams of EHS professionals.
- Demonstrated experience in interacting and compliance with the EPA and OSHA as well as State regulatory agencies.
- Experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 or similar management systems across multiple operating sites of similar scale.
- Must have knowledge and training in Lean Manufacturing principles including 6S and Kaizen.
- Heavy manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in auditing plants for all EHS components.
- Demonstrated experience in safety culture change.
- Strong demonstrated ability to conduct training at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to credibly and effectively communicate and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience in leading improvement efforts in a heavy manufacturing setting required.
- Operations Management experience preferred
- Candidates must have multi-site experience.
- Experience with Oregon Safety and Environmental regulations preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours across all shifts.
- Limited travel required but may include 5-10%.
