About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant you will work under the guidance of class teachers to support pupils learning social development and inclusion. You may work with individuals small groups or across the whole class to support differentiated learning promote independence and ensure pupils engage fully with lessons.
You will play a crucial role in supporting children with additional needs assisting with classroom management and delivering interventions as directed by the teacher or SENCo. This role is ideal for someone patient observant and passionate about helping children achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant will include:
Supporting teaching and learning across the classroom
Working with individuals or small groups including children with SEND or EAL
Supporting childrens communication social and emotional development
Assisting with classroom routines transitions and personal care if required
Implementing strategies from Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or support plans
Observing recording and reporting on pupil progress
Promoting independence confidence and positive behaviour
Working collaboratively with teachers SENCo and other staff
Supporting the development of inclusive classroom practices
Ensuring safeguarding health and safety procedures are followed
The Ideal Candidate
The school is seeking a Teaching Assistant who demonstrates:
Experience supporting children in a classroom setting
Patience empathy and a nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexibility and willingness to support pupils with a variety of needs
Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting all learners
Desirable but not essential:
Previous experience in SEN support
Qualifications in teaching support or education (Level 2/3)
Experience with literacy or numeracy interventions
