Job Summary : Mechanical Project Engineer / Project Manager
- Serve as lead for mechanical design and project management of capital projects in an industrial manufacturing (union plant) environment.
- Execute studies layouts and design packages using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Develop project estimates budgets and technical schedules for all execution phases.
- Coordinate procurement fabrication installation commissioning and equipment startup.
- Interface with internal engineering operations maintenance teams and external vendors.
- Oversee contract engineering and manage supplier relationships as needed.
- Support plant maintenance through training and technical handoff on new equipment.
- Participate in equipment reception qualification commissioning and acceptance.
- Ensure project compliance with safety ergonomic and union work practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously maintaining clear communication and documentation.
- Work with a range of industrial equipment (extruders conveyors presses AGVs robotics automation systems).
- Standard schedule is Monday Friday (40 hours/week) with flexibility for weekend/holiday work and plant shutdowns.
- Requires Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent 4 years mechanical project experience union plant experience and proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Project management/leadership strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Preferred experience includes robotics capital project coordination equipment RFQs and cross-functional engineering deliverables.
