Job Summary

Title - Grounds Maintenance
Duration 5 Months
Shift Mon Fri (8:00 AM 5:00 PM) (Weekends as needed).
Location - Hixson TN 37343

Job Summary:

Responsible for the care maintenance and overall appearance of cemetery grounds lawns and landscaping. Ensures that the environment is safe clean and visually appealing for families and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Groundskeeping:
- Mow lawns trim edges rake leaves and remove debris.
- Prune shrubs and trees.
- Plant flowers grass and other greenery.
- Maintain irrigation systems (minor repairs adjustments).
- Apply fertilizers pesticides or herbicides as needed.

Grave and Site Preparation:
- Assist in opening and closing graves and setting up tents chairs and grave markers.
- Install memorial markers and monuments.
- Ensure gravesites are properly filled leveled and seeded.

Equipment Use and Maintenance:
- Operate landscaping equipment (mowers trimmers blowers tractors etc.).
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery.

General Maintenance:
- Maintain clean and orderly appearance of cemetery grounds and facilities.
- Repair walkways fences and other structures as needed.
- Assist with snow removal or storm cleanup as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely.
Basic knowledge of horticulture and landscape maintenance.
Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in varying weather.
Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Attention to detail especially when handling gravesites and memorials.
Professional and respectful demeanor when on-site especially around grieving families.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in grounds maintenance landscaping or cemetery operations.
Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Certification for pesticide or chemical application (varies by state).
