Inclusion Health Registrar.This is an exciting new role to be part of developing a new Inclusion Health service at Tallaght University Hospital.
It recognises the complex medical and psychosocial needs and health inequalities experienced by those in marginalized groups such as those experiencing homeless migrants seeking protection prisoners and Travellers. We aim to offer equitable healthcare through patient-centred psychologically informed appropriate approaches collaborating closely with our community partners (GPs homeless agencies addiction and mental health services etc) to do so.
The inclusion health network is developing in Dublin and beyond and this role will also involve networking with the other inclusion health teams.
The Inclusion health service is run as part of the Infectious diseases department at Tallaght University Hospital. Therefore successful candidates will not only gain experience in inclusion health but also in infectious diseases.
This post would give excellent inclusion health infectious diseases and general medical experience to the successful appointee in the following aspects:
Holistic assessment of inclusion health patients Identifying and managing psychosocial as well as medical needs (both infectious and non-infectious)
Identifying and managing needs of migrant population
Integrating care with community services
Developing a new service with associated skills including leadership management and service evaluation
Inclusion health network meetings
Close liaison with multiple clinical disciplines and broad learning opportunities related to multiple specialities
General medical on-call commitments with learning and development associated with this Management of patients with complicated and severe infections
Learning and practising appropriate antimicrobial prescribing and role of antimicrobial stewardship in the evolving era of multi drug resistant organisms
Exposure to management of infections in the returned travellers
Exposure to management of infections in the immunosuppressed Learning infection prevention and control measures in the hospital and management of infection outbreaks.
Management of OPAT patients
Close liaison with colleagues in the Microbiology Dept including weekly combined ID/Micro meetings.
Attendance at weekly ID journal club with opportunities to present
Attendance at the Clinical Microbiology journal club with opportunities to present
Opportunity to participate in clinical audit service evaluation and patient satisfaction surveys.
