Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) is looking for Associate Aircraft Electrical Assembly Mechanics to join our Executive Fleet team in San Antonio TX.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location (San Antonio TX).

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for this position

This position requires the ability to pass an assessment during the training cycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform connector terminations including shielded wires coaxial cables and fiber optic wiring

  • Ability and understanding of routing instructions and handling of harnesses

  • Perform sealing wrapping bonding tying and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processes

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings technical orders process specification and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modifications and repairs

  • Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of electrical wiring

  • Perform assembly installation visual inspection of physical characteristics modification of wire bundles & electrical assemblies operational and quality checks of aircraft

  • Troubleshoot organizational and depot maintenance level malfunctions in aircraft electrical and comms/nav-systems

  • Interpret standard work instructions charts tables blueprints wire diagrams formulas sketches verbal and electronic orders job layouts etc...

  • Use all equipment in accordance with established safety and operating procedures

  • Perform all tasks involved in the coordination preparation and movement of material and tools

  • Operate riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignments

  • Maintain necessary certifications licenses and permits as required for assigned work

  • Perform all duties of lower Electrical classifications as required to successfully accomplish assignments

  • Ascend and descend vertical work ladders work in confined spaces and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • 4 years experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions reading and interpreting blueprints drawings or specifications

  • 4 years experience in a technical or mechanical field performing work with basic hand power and pneumatic tools

  • 4 years experience with various wiring design drawings including system interconnects wire routing and equipment installation drawings

  • 4 years experiencein aerospace or manufacturing with wire routing dressing hook-up/mating connections

  • 4 years experience in aerospace or manufacturing with wire resistance/continuity check ins

  • 4 years experiencein aerospace or manufacturing with wire rework (wire repair rerouting connector disconnect pin removal/install)

  • 4 years experience in aerospace or manufacturing with wire connections; splicing soldering and heat shrink

  • 4 years experience in aerospace or manufacturing with connector build up

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3 years of experience with avionics systems shop mathematics and practices and electrical/electronic theories

  • FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant

Summary Starting Pay Rate: $75000 / $36.06 per hour

Additive Pay:

  • $1.00/hourly for Airframe Certification

  • $1.00/hourly for Powerplant Certification
