Conducts surgical research under the supervision of senior surgeons assisting with protocol development and data analysis.
Essential Functions:
- May perform molecular biology cell biology and/or animal experiments.
- Designs and conducts scientific experiments to obtain data.
- May participate in clinical research and IRB protocols.
- Writes and publishes scientific manuscripts and journals.
- Contributes to grant submissions for external funding.
Education Requirement:
- Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic school or international equivalent required.
- Currently in a Surgery Training Program required.
Skills:
- Necessary technical skills in the appropriate area of research.
- Effective technical writing and communication skills.
Experience:
- Two years of surgical training preferred.
- Experience with large animal surgeries preferred.
