Job Summary
Provides primary health care to a specific patient population within the guidelines of written protocols. Follows established nursing standards procedures and practices.
Accountabilities
- Obtains medical histories or performs physical examinations. 15%
- As appropriate to area of expertise provides health maintenance care for adults including annual physicals; provides well child care including screening and immunizations; provides prenatal care and family planning services. 15%
- Diagnoses treats and monitors chronic diseases such as diabetes or high blood pressure. 15%
- Collaborates with physician and other health professionals as needed.15%
- 5Writes orders for the interprets laboratory studies x-rays special tests medications treatments and other matters pertaining to patients care. 15%
- Prescribes medications and other treatments. 15%
- General Job Expectations:
- -Enhances professional growth and development through such activities as professional affiliations; participation in educational programs in-service meetings and workshops; and review of current literature.
- -Maintains a safe comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with established standards.
- -Promotes positive health behaviors and self care skills through education or counseling.
- -Maintains established departmental policies and procedures objectives quality assurance program safety environmental and infection control standards. 10%
Masters Degree - Nursing; Nurse Practitioner Degree Emphasis or Program Certificate equivalent

SC Nurse Practitioner
Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License
South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner
South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license
