Weekend Registered Nurse House Supervisor
Different shift options:
Work Saturday & Sunday 12hr or 16hrs shift: 0630-1900 or 0630-2300


Overview

The Nurse Supervisor provides leadership clinical oversightdirection monitoring and training for all nursing and nursing relatedoperations for the facility during your scheduled shift including:clinical management of residents customer satisfaction regulatory compliancewith state and federal regulations quality improvement and outcomes policyand procedure enforcement and achieving operating plan goals and nursingpersonnel (retention/training/supervision).

Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure all nursing staff understand andfollow their respective job descriptions.
  • Ensure that nursing practice complieswith regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure sufficient numbers of licensed andcertified staff are available each shift to meet regulatory requirements andprovide appropriate care to residents.
  • Complete routine clinical rounds each day toensure all staff are performing work assignments in accordance with acceptablestandards.
  • Promote establish and maintain customerrelationships with residents families staff community and otherprofessionals.
  • Review complaints and concerns made byfamilies residents and staff communicate these concerns including follow upwith the managers or Director of Nursing or Administrator as appropriate.
  • Ensure policies and procedures regardingcommunicable diseases infection control and isolation procedures as well asother systems pertinent to nursing are followed and maintained.
  • Implement policies and procedures incollaboration with the Managers Director of Nursing and Administrator.
  • Provide support for staff competencewith electronic charting system (ECS).
  • Make written and verbalreports/recommendations to the Managers and Director of Nursing as necessaryconcerning the operation of the nursing department.
  • Assist and implement appropriate plans ofcorrection for safety concerns assessments evaluations andcharting is completed according to policy.
  • Actively participate in Quality Assuranceand Performance Improvement (QAPI) program as directed by the managers orDirector of Nursing.
  • Participate in routine and daily careof residents to include but not limited to assistance with ADLs meals eatingfunctional maintenance plans/nursing restorative plans and activities.
  • Complete and deliver assigned staffperformance evaluations as directed.

Skills& Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and managehigh levels of stress/conflict.
  • Ability to lead by example identify andaddress challenges proactively.
  • Must have ability/competency and willingnessto work as a direct care provider when necessary.

Education & Licensing Requirements:

  • Stateof Maine Nursing license as a Registered Nurse. (required)

PhysicalRequirements:

  • Ability to cope with mental and emotionalstress of the position and effectively communicate policies procedures andreports to employees residents family members visitors and governmentagencies as needed.
  • Must function independently as well as amember of multiple teams have flexibility personal integrity and the abilityto work effectively with residents employees regulators the public andsupport agencies.
  • Must be able to relate to and work withill disabled elderly emotionally upset and at times hostile people withinthe nursing community.
  • Able to move at least 35lbs. withoutassistance able to bend sit and work in small areas and displays stamina toassist residents where needed and in emergencies.
