Job Summary

Leidos Health & Services Sector is seeking a Junior Behavioral Science Technical Contributorto support the Department of Defenses personnel testing and assessment mission. The Junior Behavioral Science Technical Contributor provides foundational research and analytic support to behavioral science and assessment development activities that contribute to DoDs personnel testing and research mission.

The contract provides comprehensive scientific analytic and operational support to the DoD for the development administration evaluation and continuous improvement of its personnel testing and assessment programs. Support includes behavioral science research psychometric analysis test development operational test administration data collection statistical modeling and technical assistance for computer-based and paper-and-pencil testing systemsincluding the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) language proficiency tests and other accession-related assessments. The contractor delivers research studies analytic products test specifications scoring algorithms technical documentation and system support to ensure the validity reliability fairness and operational effectiveness of DoDs testing enterprise used to classify and select individuals for military service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with item development content reviews and scoring processes.

  • Prepare datasets and conduct initial analyses.

  • Develop administration materials and research documentation.

  • Support logistics for surveys and data collection.

  • Provide analytic and organizational support to senior staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a bachelors degree in psychology Industrial-Organizational Psychology Educational Measurement Cognitive Science Human Factors or a related behavioral science discipline plus two years of related work experience OR a masters in a behavioral science field.

    • Basic data analysis skills including data cleaning organization and running descriptive statistics using R SPSS SAS Python or similar tools.

    • Ability to prepare tables figures documentation and research summaries with accuracy and attention to detail.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments under supervision.

    • Effective written and verbal communication skills for supporting senior team members and contributing to technical documentation.

    • Ability to follow established procedures quality standards and research protocols.

    • Strong teamwork orientation and willingness to learn new tools methods and processes.

  • Security Clearance: Must possess or be able to obtain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC) and successfully complete a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check and a National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) Citizenship is required.

  • Location: This position is eligible for 75% remote work with occasional on-site work as required by customer and/or contract needs. Candidate must be located or willing to relocate within commuting distance of Seaside CA.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with or within the DoD.

  • Familiarity with DTAC and its mission and objectives.

  • Familiarity with DoD or federal personnel testing recruiting or classification processes.

  • Knowledge of military accession recruiting and classification processes.

  • Experience contributing to educational aptitude or workforce assessment programs.

  • Familiarity with psychometric concepts (e.g. Classical Test Theory Item Response Theory).

  • Experience supporting surveys test development cycles or review panels.

  • Experience working with statistical or analytic software (R SPSS SAS Python).

  • Exposure to human subjects research processes or documentation (IRB HSPP OMB).

  • Experience assisting with scoring verification test administration materials or data collection preparation.
