The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus is seeking a Family Medicine physician with Sports Medicine fellowship training to provide compassionate and comprehensive primary care musculoskeletal and sports-related services.
his is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality primary and sports medicine care in a rural full-service community hospital supported by The University of Kansas Health System. The physician will join a collaborative team of five Family Medicine physicians and five advanced practice providers (APPs) in a physician-led model focused on clinical excellence and patient access. Call coverage is 1:5 and the role includes one day per week in the orthopedic clinic offering variety and the chance to work across specialties.
The physician will provide full-scope ambulatory Family Medicine and Sports Medicine care including diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions musculoskeletal injuries injury prevention and rehabilitation. Responsibilities may include in-office procedures such as joint and tendon injections fracture management and ultrasound-guided interventions along with close collaboration with primary care orthopedics and rehabilitation services to support comprehensive patient care.
The ideal candidate will be an MD DO or equivalent who is board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine and fellowship trained or experienced in Sports Medicine. Experience in musculoskeletal and sports-related care is preferred. Candidates must be eligible for or hold a Kansas medical license and J-1 Visa candidates are welcome to apply.

The University of Kansas Health System Great Bend Campus includes a 33-bed not-for-profit hospital providing short-term acute care services along with orthopedic obstetric and surgical care units radiology and an emergency department including Level IV trauma services. The medical pavilion also located on the Great Bend Campus provides specialty ambulatory care including obstetrics/gynecology family medicine general surgery and specialty clinics.
In the Great Bend community The University of Kansas Health System also has St. Rose Medical Pavilion. St. Rose Medical Pavilion located on Broadway Avenue provides Family Medicine (Including Family Medicine with Obstetrics and Family Medicine with Sports Medicine specialty outpatient care including cardiac rehab and various specialty care clinics during the month. It also provides a Convenient Care Walk-In Clinic for nonemergency situations.
