Job Description
The Role
As a Senior Controls Engineer you will lead program execution for machine controls and robotics within a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or plant assembly environment. This role requires creativity initiative and independent judgment to deliver innovative solutions that enable high-quality production. You will manage new program launches troubleshoot existing systems and provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers.
What Youll Do
- Execute new program launches including Statement of Requirements (SOR) preparation forecasting controls/robotics design equipment build/run-off and buyoff.
- Oversee design construction integration plant installation and continuous improvement of equipment and tools for high-quality part production.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet program milestones.
- Provide project updates and report-outs to senior management.
- Support existing programs/sites with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and plant personnel.
- Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
- Contribute to development and testing of advanced process technologies.
- Travel as required to support program execution and plant activities.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 5 years of professional experience as a controls/robotics engineer.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical/control systems applied in manufacturing environments.
- Basic understanding of mechanical concepts related to machine design and process requirements.
- Proficiency in Siemens CNC PLC and HMI programming; Ethernet and/or ProfiNet/ProfiSafe networks.
- Knowledge of servo motors motion control and drives.
- Ability to design and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
- Experience across multiple manufacturing controls and/or robotics assignments with measurable achievements.
- Ability to interpret blueprints engineering drawings and learn new systems.

- Prior experience as a controls engineer in the automotive industry.
- Understanding of plant floor operations.
- General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
